Robert M. Isaacs, L.C.S.W., J.D. I'm a psychotherapist in New York City

My Background

My training includes using a number of different approaches depending on the focus of the problem. These approaches include, but are not limited to cognitive therapy, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and object relations theory. I am an active therapist that gives feedback as soon as possible. Learning practical solutions to problems such as anxiety, depression, relationships and work concerns, and developing deeper awareness about yourself are some of the general goals of my work. You are also encouraged to evaluate the effectiveness of the therapy so that benefits are concrete.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist. I received a Masters in Social Work from Hunter School of Social Work in 1981. I also received a Doctorate in Social Work (ABD) from Hunter Graduate School of Social Work. I have a second Doctorate in Law from New York University Law School. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I attended the Psychoanalytic Institute for Clinical Social Workers and taught therapists at the Fifth Avenue Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Manhattan.
